Terms & Conditions
PLEASE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BELOW CAREFULLY – BY ACCEPTING A QUOTATION FROM ALEX ENGLAND DECORATORS LTD. YOU ARE ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH US AND AGREEING TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
‘We’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ means Alex England Decorators Ltd ‘You’, ‘the client’, ‘the customer’, ‘your’ means the person who requested our services and enters into this contract.
The Quote
Unless otherwise stated, the quotation is valid for 30 days from date of production. After this time, a small increase may accrue. The price is based on the information given by the customer at the time of pricing the work or any plans provided. Any changes to this information or plans may change the price.
Extra Costs

Electric, Water and Storage
The customer will be expected to provide electric power, running water and toilet facilities where reasonably possible. We may request that tools and materials can be left at the home / site during the works. The customer reserves the right to decline such a request.
At no point must the customer use any equipment belonging to Alex England Decorators Ltd.
Materials
All materials needed to undertake the work that has been agreed will be provided by us. Unless otherwise agreed. We insure that all the materials used will be of the highest trade quality to insure that the work can be completed to the highest standard. Always following the manufactures guidelines. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the performance and quality of materials provided by you.
The quote is based on materials agreed at the time of pricing, if you would like to change for example; from a standard dulux or crown colour to a designer farrow and ball, little green or Benjamin Moore paint an extra charge may occur. Also if you decide to have a feature wall/walls after the quotation has been provided this will incur extra labour and material costs.
Waste Removal
We do not have a waste removal license with Devon Country Council. Therefore we are not able to remove any waste related to the works. All waste will be put into rubbish bags for your removal. On projects with a lot of waste, a skip will be supplied within our quote.
Radiators
We do not have insurance to remove radiators for decorating. But we will always do as much as possible to organise a plumber to remove radiators if needed. If this isn’t stated on your quote then an extra cost normally paid direct to the plumber may apply.
Hours Of Work
Our normal hours of work are 8am to 4:30pm – Monday to Friday. If you require us to start later, work evening, nights or weekends, extra charges will apply.
Cancellation Of Works
In the event of you the client cancelling the planned works you agree to notify Alex England by phone or email 14 days before the project start date. Cancellations 14 days or less before the start date may incur a charge of up to a 50% of the total value of the works. Postponing the works for up to 3 months do not incur any additional costs.
If for any reason we are required to postpone the works, we will inform the custom as soon as possible.
Payments And Deposits
On projects under £5000.00 no deposits are required. On projects over this amount a 10% deposit may be required.
On projects over £3000.00 an interim payment maybe requested part of the way into the works. Full payment of the invoice must be paid by the customer within 5 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any payments over 5 days will be charged a £40 plus VAT fee. If a payment has not been made within 14 days, the outstanding invoice will be passed onto a debt recovery company, where further charges will apply.
Payments can be made by BASC to the account details found on the bottom of the invoice, or account details can be given upon request. Unfortunately we are unable to accept cheques.
Our Promise To The Customer
That all works will be completed to the highest standard. That we do everything we can to ensure a smooth running of the project with as little disruption as possible. That we complete the works within the agreed timescale unless we encounter any issue and too budget. If we discover any issues that were not covered in the quote we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the possible options and extra costs. Your property will be left clean and tidy once all work is completed.
